Frequently asked questions
How do I lock in a date?
Get in touch via Instagram or Email and enquire about the date you're interested in shooting. If I'm available - a 50% deposit is required to hold the date. The remaining 50% is then required a day before shooting. I accept EFT or card payment.
Can we change the location?
I understand that the ideal beach or break might change depending on the tide, swell, wind and weather. I am happy to stay in touch on developing conditions and make a call on location (pending it being Central Coast located).
What happens if the conditions aren't ideal?
I understand that surfing and particularly shooting in the surf is subject to swell, wind & weather. I will be in contact leading up to the shoot date and we can both make a call on conditions 24 hours prior. I'm happy to postpone and transfer the deposit to a new date if conditions aren't conducive to getting shots.
What time will the shoot be?
I will work with you to tee up an ideal time to conduct the shoot. I prefer to shoot in the early morning within the first few hours of the sun rising. This generally produces amazing light and the wind is more favourable. I am of course open to shooting at a time that suits both parties.
What can I use the images for?
I will supply 10-15 high res images (watermark free) for personal use. This includes posting on social media and for personal printing.
Commercial use of the images (advertising, brand promotion, resale) requires a separate written licence agreement and additional fee.
Can you make me look better at surfing?
The quality and variety of images delivered is directly influenced by your surfing ability, wave selection, positioning, and performance during the session. Surf photography is a collaborative outcome - I am responsible for technical execution, while your ability to catch waves, maintain board control, and position yourself effectively on the wave contributes significantly to the photographic result.
Will you supply RAW images?
No, I do not supply RAW images of any kind. I will supply high-res JPEG photographs sufficient for personal printing and use on social media.
Do you only shoot surfing?
Short answer is no!
Salty Sets is my pursuit of unique photographs in and around the ocean. This could include surfing, stand up paddle boarding, ocean swimming, underwater portraits... if it involves the ocean and people - count me in!
